I’d like to go to europe this summer and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to sport climb that isn’t too warm. I’ve heard of good limestone sport in switzerland but know no details. Thanks,

Climbing, in Europe ?
There are thousands of crag for sure ! even in limestone ! Don’t know very well Swizerland, just ‹ Miroir d’Argentine › in Geneva area. No doubt you can fnd want you wish in France.
If you could be more precise so we can help.
Another point:
avoid going south of Europe during july-august… unless you want to do a bit of tanbathing while climbing, but I understand it’s not obviously your goal.

Well, I don’t know much about Switzerland (even though I leave in France close to Geneva). The only time I went there to climb was in the Gastlozen range (north-east from Lausanne, I’ll say 2 hours from Geneva)…it’s a very beautiful range, full of routes to climb in both sides of the long but thiny range (various exposures). Some are more than 200/300m. The approach is not even 1 hour walking. You can find pictures of it, just to see, on the web (type Gastlozen in google/pictures for example). That said, I think you won’t have difficulty to find a climbing spot in that (beautiful) country. I’ve heard about a route called Motorhead which is quite like US Big Wall Spots, very beautiful line, around 6b, I think. Good luck in you search. And good trip…

These are only some of the most famous sites in Switzerland, but the possibilities are unlimited

Here it is : ELDORADO (merci Pascalou). This is the place where (I believe) you can find the route called Motorhead. You can do it listening wind rather than the eponym hard-rock band ! Ciao

Dis, Pascalou (j’imagine que tu parles français - I guess you speak french, if not, send this mail back to me I will translate it), connaîtrais-tu bien cet endroit? Parce que dans ce cas, j’aurais une question: y existe-t-il des grandes voies dans le 6a maxi? Quelles sont les grandes voies les moins dures du secteur? Septumania, Motorhead (6a ou 6b je ne sais plus trop…) Je pense que ce sont les plus tranquilles du coin. Après il faut aussi prendre en compte l’équipement, qui est assez espacé…
Mais ca fait un certain temps que j’y suis allé, donc il faudrait se replonger dans le topo.
Il y en a surement sur ce forum qui connaisent tout ca bien mieux que moi.
Sinon, il y a aussi du très beau rocher de l’autre côté du Furkapass:

Winterstock
ou tu peux aussi trouver des superbes voix dans un rocher orange un peu plus vertical en 6a/6b.

du côté de Göscheneralp (depuis la Bergseehütte, du côté du Slabitschijen…)
du côté du Sustenpass
le Tessin bien sûr (par exemple de l’autre côté du Nufenenpass, Capanna Piansecco est un bon départ pour de jolies voies de 300/400m)
Enfin on pourrait en écrire des tonnes…Mais achète le(s) topo(s) de Von Känel (qui vient de décéder malheureusement), ils sont très bien faits, je pense que ca vaut vraiment le coup.

Va faire Schweiz-Plaisir, c’est la plus facile à mon avis, entre celle que j’ai faites (metal hurlant, venon, franz bennelli, motorhead, gletscherweib, septumania)
