Trekking in ladakh - bad experience with local guide---- july 2009

I just come back from the ladakh for a trek (padum to lamayuru ) and i had very bad experience with a business man who propose trek in zanskar . This Person is Lobsang chosphel. So be carfull of him
We had booked the trip from France for a program and when we arrived in leh he phoned to them because he wanted to change it . Jeep cost a lot etc etc and he said to take the bus for saving money . So don’t let him do because he just want to do more money with this lie and if you ask something in return you’ ll never have it because he‘s a big liar.
More over the price is about 35euros per days. If you ask in leh local guide in leh you’ll pay only 14 euros per day(1000 rps per day ) for the same trip.
For ten days the trip cost about 30 000 rps and we paid 90 000.rps for three persons.

I had recently a good experience with local trekking guide. We planned to be 4 trekking from Padum to Lamayuru. Due to the recent flood, our collegues decided not to go. We remained only 2 . Nevertheless, our trekking organization accepted to organize it only for 2 and at a very reasonnable price. Despite difficult local situations , our agency Dreamland Trek and Tour has been really fine. Guide and all staff have been quite professional and helpful. Worth mention it !
