I was guiding the traverse on friday, september 7. Starting from Dom refuge at 4 AM, passing the Festi-Kin Lucke, reached Taeschhorn at 10AM, and the top oft Dom at 4 pm and back to the hut at 6:30pm. The conditions were ideal. hard snow to Taschhorn. The arete to Domjoch is quite snowy, so it is advisable to make bypasses on the north side a couple of times to save time to reach the Col du Dom. From the Col, it is mostly dry rock, but with many intermediate snow passages. we climbed with crampons all the time. Watch out for cornices! At that time there was only little wind and the temperature was below freezing so the snow stayed hard the whole day. Equipment: 40 metres rope, a few slings, a friend or two…I found 2 pitons in the upper (steepest) part of route.
A very good and big tour!! Bon chance!
