In the norwegian mountains many people are skiing without using skins for going up, instead they wax their skies.
Would it be possible to wax normal touringskis instead of using skins on the way up? I guess that the slopes may not be (very) steep then. Has someone tried this before?

Grip Wax (for way-up) is mostly used on cross-country skis. For touring skis, it must be possible to climb with wax on some small slopes, with very dry and cold snow like you can find in Scandinavia.
But for steeper slopes and changing snow (melting, ice) I think that nothing can beat the skins !
