Looking for a room in a shared house in Grenoble

I’m an English PhD student who has just moved to Grenoble for the next 3 years to work at the ESRF. I have an apartment until the 16th of November, but after that I would like to move to somewhere within cycling distance of work, preferably in the direction of town. I’m into snowboarding, bouldering, trad and especially sport climbing and would like to get into mountaineering over the winter season.

If anyone has any information on a room in a shared house starting from, or near to, the start of november that would be very much appreciated!

Have you tried posting on the French forum?

Yes, I posted there too but I wasn’t hopeful for my internet translation of the same message (I don’t speak any French yet).

I don’t have an appartement to offer, but if you’re looking for a training partner in Grenoble, I’m looking for someone to climb with regularly (around 3 times/week) over the winter. I have basic experience in ice and mixed climbing and hope to gain more over the winter.

I am looking for a climbing partner to do as much climbing as possible. Unfortunately, although I am keen to learn, I have no experience in ice and mixed climbing, my experience is mainly in single and multi-pitch sport and british trad climbing. I am here for 3 years now and have my own transport so I do hope to get into the winter side of climbing.

I sent you an email.
