Eiger North Face

Posted as guest by Steinar:

Hi,

we are two norwegians who are thinking of doing the Eiger North face via the 1938-route.

Basically all we need is beta on the approach and descent, so if anyone has some good info we would be grateful…

In case we need to buy a guidebook; what book should we buy?

There is a English guide book with a selection route in switerland inclunding the 1938 route. I do not remeber the name but you should find it in the net.

I dont want to be rude, but if you need to ask questions like this, you shouldnt even try.

Hej Norge,

So, did you climb the 1938 route? If yes, did you find a good guidebook? If you postponed it, have a look at - http://www.caingram.info/Eiger.htm - and the berneses oberland guide book.

Good luck,
Olov

Try to find someone who’s done it…I don’t think that a book is enough to tackle this challenge…I’v been there with 2 teammates who have done it before…even with that kind of buddies It was hell…

Find some swiss alpinist.
One thing, it’s not the place to find hell !
But it can be heaven for those who knows when.
