Chamonix Mountain Festival 2014 will take place between 29 June and 6 July 2014
By climbers for climbers the first festival took place in June 2013 and attracted climbers from some 20 countries around the globe as well as some of the biggest brands in industry.
Designed as a melting pot experience for autonomous climbers, the 2014 event will once again be based at the UCPA Base Camp in the centre of Chamonix.
Sitting at the foot of Mont Blanc and with easy access to the Italian and Swiss routes on the Mont Blanc Massif, it’s a climbers’ paradise.
Just €490 for seven-nights, the ticket includes full board accommodation, lift passes (which bought independently are normally €54 per day).
In addition the price includes access to all the events running alongside the climbing meet including the Gear Test which will give participants the opportunity to test the latest gear from some of the leading equipment providers – the 2013 Gear Test included names like Beal, G3 Genuine Guide Gear, Tendon, Black Diamond and Grivel to name but a few.
Organiser Francoise Call said: “This year’s Festival was a huge success and we are looking forward to the 2014 Chamonix Mountain Festival being even better.
“We welcomed climbers from all over the globe and the camaraderie was great. Like any good climbing meet, it provided the chance for everyone to explore new routes, find climbing partners and enjoy the wealth of opportunities we are so lucky to have on our doorstep.
“Chamonix is uniquely placed in the climbing world, with lift access to 3,810 metres alpinists don’t have to walk for days to reach a route. The evening entertainment programme is already filling out and our first bookings are already in.”
