Arête de Ferpècle

Le rocher est meilleur que ce qui est dit dans la description!!

Yesterday we tried to access the west ridge from the bivouac at the Col de la Dent Blanche.

It seems that the traverse to the „demi-lune“ from the NW side around 3450m is not possible anymore?

We traversed from glacier at the spot that seemed most promising (orange and bright grey rock) towards the demi-lune. The climbing was leading over some slabs and was not easy (maybe 4ish).

As we neither found a cairn nor pitons which would guide us, we did not continue further after approx 10m.

We also waited until it got bright, but could not locate a better entry point to the traverse. Maybe there was some rockfall?

Well, we had a hard time to find the starting point to the ledge leading to Demi-lune, too. Actually, first day we only searched for the starting point. I think that the right point look slightly less-promissing, perhaps it is above the more-promissing place. There was a yellowish rock, big cairn and no pitons, as far as I remember. The traverse to the Demi-lune was an easy scrambling in a poor quality rock, up to II UIAA.
