thanks for your account. We were the team before you and I was trying to figure out how it was possible that you started from Val Veny so late and were before us on the lower part of the ridge. Only now I have realised that you had an additional bivy at col du Brouillard. We started at Monzino hut at 04 am, but had our first bivy at Col Emil Rey. Now it all makes sense.
The alternative route from Monzino hut to the Brouillard ridge (before Aiguille rouges du Brouillard) was all dry and in good conditions. The two bolted pitches were however quite brittle.
