Did you take two ice axes / person or just one is sufficient ?
Is it safe to leave the tent with sleeping bags at the base camp ? No rubber stories ?
Did you hire the mountain gear in La Paz ? If yes can you recommend the address of the agency ?

We used one ice axe, that’s more than sufficient. There is only one steeper section at the bergschrund, all the rest is really very straightforward. We left our tent at the highest refuge and didn’t have any problems with robberies, or heard about any. We have most of our own gear, but hired some extra stuff in Andean Basecamp (av. Illampu) and would definitely recommend them. They don’t have a sign on the street, but is the grey door at number 1037 (third floor). The Google Maps location is quite accurate.
