Oh that’s an adventure! It was a good decision to turn back with that rain / snow coming. Also the rescue helicopter can’t fly during bad weather without visibility.
Yes, it was. The day before I had visited the Zermatt Guides Office and asked whether they knew the condition of the route. But all they could say was that none of their guides had been there recently. After my return to Zermatt I visited them again to give a brief report.
